This is my first swatching post and I'm so excited to show it to you guys! About a month or so back I won a giveaway on Dandy Nails and the prize was 3 China Glaze's from their Prismatic Collection in Liquid Crystal, Full Spectrum, and Optical Illusion.
(L-R: Liquid Crystal, Optical Illusion, Full Spectrum)
I'm going to post swatches for these in three parts just because this glitter is SO hard to remove, even with the foil method. Also, it's just too pretty to take off!
First up is Liquid Crystal. Liquid Crystal is a blue and pink duochrome packed with TONS of multicolored glitter. In the bottle it looks like it would have more of a blue undertone but it doesn't translate onto the nail. Instead it's more of a silvery color with a hint of blue.
For today's nails I used OPI Start to Finish as my basecoat, and three coats of Liquid Crystal for full coverage. I could have left it alone at two, but I really wanted it to stand out even at night so I chose to use three instead, followed by Nail Aid 3 Minute Artificials as my top coat.
Even in the shade, the sparkle on this is PERFECTION!
I just want to take a moment to say how IN LOVEEEEEEE I am with 3 minute artificals as well as the entire Nail Aid line. They have everything you could want. Strenghting polish, lengthening polish, even a gel top coat. I got the bottle below about late January and I've already gone through so much.
Overall, Liquid Crystal is a gorgeous polish. The formula was sort of thick and gloopy but I think it's understandable from the amount of glitter and sparkles that are throughout the polish. The one thing that I really don't like about it is that it's DEFINITELY a top coat eater. I hate the feeling of gritty polish on my nails (I'm crazy, don't judge) and even after 3 layers of top coat it's still a bit gritty, but I refuse to put another layer on! Otherwise, I definitely think this has made my top 10 polishes!
Well stay tuned for my next post which will include swatches of Full Spectrum!
